Where the numbers come from, how they are checked, and how the publication stays independent of the providers it covers.
Why this page exists
Trust should be inspectable, not assumed
Outsourcing.ke asks decision-makers, journalists, analysts, and AI search engines to rely on its figures. This standard makes the chain visible: where data came from, how it is presented, when it changes, and what happens when it is wrong.
Source hierarchy
Where the numbers come from
Sources are chosen in this order. A lower tier does not replace a stronger source when the stronger source exists.

Official statistics and regulators
KNBS, the Central Bank of Kenya, the Communications Authority, the ODPC, and equivalent bodies in reader markets such as the UK ICO.

International benchmarks
The World Bank, ILO, EF English Proficiency Index, and comparable published indices.

Primary corporate records
Company registries, filings, and providers’ own published materials, used chiefly for directory profiles.

Published market research
Named industry reports cited with their publisher and year.
Every published figure carries its source inline or in the page’s source block. A number that cannot be traced to a named source does not get published. Estimates are labelled, with their basis stated.
Figures and comparisons
How the evidence is presented
Cost and salary figures are planning benchmarks, not quotes. They are shown as ranges, dated to the underlying source, and kept in the source currency wherever practical.
Comparison tables report what the cited evidence supports. Editorial interpretation is separated from the source values, and trade-offs are stated rather than hidden.
Provider directory
A census, not a ranking
Compilation
Profiles are compiled from public records—company websites, registries, filings, and published client information. Each profile states when its public records were checked and links claims to the evidence available.
Placement
Listings are alphabetical. Providers cannot pay to be listed, ranked higher, or described more favourably. Listing is not an endorsement. Corrections and inclusion requests are reviewed editorially and remain free.
Outbound links
Provider website links carry rel="nofollow", so they pass no ranking signal. Evidence links do not: citations should credit the body that published the data.
Maintenance
Updates and corrections
Update cadence
Core pages are reviewed when source bodies publish new data and at least annually. Dated reports and salary benchmarks are versioned so old citations remain checkable.
Corrections
Verified errors are corrected in place. Material corrections are noted on the affected page. Readers can report a figure through the contact route below.
Independence and funding
How editorial independence is maintained
Outsourcing.ke is not owned by an outsourcing provider. No provider pays for placement, coverage, or ranking. The publication currently carries no advertising or sponsorship; this page will disclose any funding-model change before it takes effect.

Citing this site
Cite figures and analysis as “Outsourcing.ke” with a link to the page used. Page dates and versioned data products make the linked URL the most reliable reference.
